PURPOSE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
Electrodes are designed for surfacing solid layers on parts made of steel, steel casting, and high manganese steels, which are simultaneously subject to strong abrasive wear, shock and compressive loads.
The main areas of application are earthmoving, mining and stone processing industry: surfacing excavators and bulldozers teeth and cutting edges, screens, augers, hammers, jaw crushers of various mills, cutting edges on tools for cold processing, as well as other parts.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS
It is recommended to hold the electrode vertically to the welded detail. Surfacing should be carried out on a very short arc and the lowest possible current, to prevent mixing with the base metal. When surfacing on large weld planes in a single layer, it should be carried out with transverse oscillations of the electrode at an amplitude of 2 – 3 core diameter. If it is necessary to weld more than three layers, a buffer layer is applied.
Mechanical treatment of weld metal – only grinding.
SPECIAL PROPERTIES
Hardness of deposited metal is 58-62 HRC.
Full annealing – 780-8200C ~ 25 HRC.
Hammering ~ 60-65 HRC.
1 layer on high manganese steel ~ 55 HRC.
2 layers on high manganese steel ~ 62 HRC.
REDRYING BEFORE WELDING
At the normal storage conditions, the redrying is not required. In case of moisture redrying is made at 300-350ºC for 60 min., 3 times max. Moisture content in the coating should not exceed 0,3%.
